Account & Data · HomeBook
You can delete your HomeBook sign-in and its cloud footprint two ways: right in the app, or by emailing us if you no longer have it installed. Either way, your on-device data is a separate thing — see below for exactly what goes and what stays.
Takes effect immediately. If you signed in a while ago, HomeBook may ask you to sign in again first — that's Firebase requiring a recent login before a destructive action, not an extra step we added.
Uninstalled the app, or signed in on a device you no longer have? Email us from the address on the account and we'll delete it for you. This is a manual request we action ourselves — not an automated web form.
Email support@homebook.app →Typically actioned within 7 days.
Deleting your account removes your cloud footprint — everything HomeBook stored online because you signed in, including your household's cloud backup. It does not touch the records stored on your own phone.
If the app can't finish removing the cloud data (for example, the connection drops), your account is not deleted — nothing is left half-removed, and you can simply try again.
We don't keep financial account data beyond what's described above. In the rare case a specific record must be retained to comply with a legal obligation (for example, an active fraud or security investigation), only that narrow record is kept, and everything else in "Deleted" above still goes.
Account deletion is separate from your local data. To clear this phone too, sign out and tick Also remove HomeBook's data from this phone — or uninstall the app. Deleting your account first, then doing either, covers both.
